Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia (CFCLA) "G class" & "EL class" locomotives G515 & EL64 with P&O Melbourne to Adelaide service MA2 were two hours overdue as fading light, high winds and ominous storm clouds threatened to cut short filming on Australia Day (26/1/2010), however persistance paid off and just before 9pm the train arrived at Gheringhap loop and crossed the two NR class locomotives leading Perth to Melbourne service PM5, which had ironically arrived two hours early on this occassion!

The colourful combination of Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) locomotives G514, B61, B65 (Auscision models livery) and G513 are seen shortly after they departed Kooragang Island with their load of empty CFCLA coal hoppers. In real life the train stoped for 30 minutes to wait for the mainline to clear however I've edited the movie to remove the long wait. Highly detailed HO scale models of the B class locomotives in the liveries shown have recently been produced by Auscision Models (www.auscisionmodels.com.au

The West Lancashire Light Railway held their Diesel Freight Day on the 25th June 2011. I can't praise the guys at WLLR enough for the amount of effort they put in and the sheer number of demonstration freight train movements they managed to make. The weather could have been better but it didn't manage to dampen their enthusiasm in the slightest. There was plenty of action and the friendly volunteers made it a great day. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to West Lancashire Light Railway. Well worth a visit.

GREAT DIESEL SOUND! The Ludmilla Diesel Locomotive (aka classes 230, 231, 232, 234) of the (former) East German Railways was built by the diesel locomotive works "October Revolution" in Woroschilowgrad/Soviet Union (today: Luhansk) in the 1970´s and 80´s. This Diesel Locomotive class has a 16-cylinder turbocharged 4-stroke diesel engine (the legendary 5D49!) with chargecooler and 3000 HP, 6 axles and is designed for heavy freight and passenger trains. This Russian Diesel Locomotive has been in service in many former Eastern European countries. The Diesel Locomotive has a nice sound, especially in the test facility at the end of the clip. Russendiesel par excellence in Hoyerswerda 1998....
